I was hoping to come on here and tell you need to watch what’s going on in WWE with the 3rd annual Battleground PPV. Unfortunately after last night show I have very few hits and more misses than I care to speak about.
Let’s start with the fantastic New Day vs Usos for the smackdown tag titles match. This is by far the best match these two teams have had, New Day is mostly known for its slapstick humor and the Usos have gotten hot with their new Gangster gimmick put on a 4 star match in my opinion and is definitely worth you seeking out.
The rest of the show are felled with the machines typical stand still booking where really nothing got accomplished. The women’s division match did see Natalya earn the number one contenderdhip to Naomi for Summerslam but I don’t see much excitement for that match. Cena vs Rusev in a flag match was predictable and standard and seeing these two in particular had better matches back in 2015 I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to see this one. Orton vs Jinder Mahal in the Punjab Prison match was bad and comical as expected. Not expected was the insane length of this match 28 minutes was just too long for 2 characters that just aren’t very compelling. The semi bright spot at the end of the match was the returning Great Khali to help Jinder retain but that excitement lasted 5 seconds until you watched Khali struggle to walk then memories that Khali isn’t good either. So unless you have fond memories of Khali this match is skip able.
The show had other matches on it but I will not cover them should tell you something. I would give this show a 5/10 and that’s being quite generous.
