00Despo – Streets of Gold

In my earlier years of doing this, I suggested more artists to have a site or blog. I’m glad to increase in Hip Hop blogs. We can’t rely on mainstream media to handle it. While I’ve been away from journalism, the artists have still been in good company of coverage. Plus, it ain’t easy to get to all the releases from so many artists. As we’re in motion I want to go over this album that’s been secured in my hard drive.

My preference of Hip Hop is witty, edgy and some type of aggression. Not limited to those, 00Despo fulfills with Streets of Gold. When it comes to beats for the rhymes I like, King David is one of the ideal producers. If you follow Diamond Dialect you might be able to hear the signature sound through the background. However, the beats maintain individuality.

Not just intelligence, Des let’s the listener know how aware of his surroundings he is, like World of Sin. Rhythm and content in the pocket. His gun talk is genuine. I’m convinced he got firearms that ain’t even come out yet. Some stand outs are “Run through the underground like a Lychen” – Wolves. My older sister put me on to Hip Hop and was a better emcee than me. So, Lingers is a heart felt joint to me. The artist opens up about his sister falling to the streets. Referencing another lost of a loved one, the second verse talking about trying to get high to cope, and meditating in hopes of enhancement.

It’s a complete album with the nod factor. Guest appearances from Timbo King, Tek of Smif-N- Wessun, Big Noyd. Also Planet Asia, Tristate, Blac Rainjah, Eeturnal, and singing from Curtis Harris. I like the variety and fierceness. A song for different modes in your day. This jewel is in stores, get your copy. If you already have it, revisit and share. Bless you!
