Got another coincidental situation to talk about. I'm aware of how the  internet shortens distance and I usually write about people far away.  I've mentioned tonight's subject before, as I covered Diaz Brothers by Cocareef. Who is from New Jersey. Whata Mess made an appearance on the creative piece, and currently launching his own mixtape. 

Little did I know he lives within fifteen to twenty minutes away from  my rest in West Palm Beach, FL. Mess spills personality across a spread of dope tracks by dope producers. Including a favorite of  mine, DJ Pain 1 and familiar friend Four Limbs, plus we get introduced to some, as  well. I'm feeling the sounds of Drunk, Richie Bane, The Heretic, and  Syer Esso. More rare digs provided by Rob Mil, Lowkey, and Luis Blue.

Whata Mess is a Boom Bap native. After the intro gets under your skin he throws lyrics explaining society's poisons.  The first quarter is very  transparent. He uses himself as the scapegoat facing temptation, fighting to not be a product of the environment. Raw flows embracing his Latin bloodline will impress you.

I like the one-liner style through St. George,as well as  Don't Move An Inch. The artist defends authentic Hip Hop with Johnny Props. Fakes want no parts trying to rebuttal. Features are first class with the revisiting, Nowaah The Flood. Always a pleasure to hear a verse from him. Also show love for RAN introduction, Grone Da Radikal. Who could be heard sharpening steel on two joints with Mess.

The scenes are vivid on LVWTP, some crime scenes, but delivered clearly. Originality is constant, good reason to get to Dat Piff and start downloading. I'm grateful for the positive reactions from readers. May Yeshua bless you!

While I'm pressed for time, I keep pressing this industry with real rap. After leaving us with The Light, we got a full project from   Lunatic.  Yup, he's back with a lyrical baptism. Even from the one tune we heard, you could peep the spiritual conscious! Now belting rhymes over a soundtrack prepared by producer,  Sc@ryHour  of  The Professional Amateurs. 

These tracks are not only hard and gritty, the levels are  mixed synced with the vocals. Lun has a distinct voice that could be  served injustice by slight engineer faults. The first joint has background sounds of praise elements while the shining goes on. Listening to The Sacrifice, and Habanero Marinara his impatience with hate is heard.

My Hip Hop ear is spoken to by the bar prowess in Cold Blood. While  most of the album battles corruption, the artist has a bit more fun  tooting his own horn. Mission still accomplished, a nice set up for  Starcade 85'a no holds bar approach. Skits were not stretched or overused, Snuff was  measured accurate. Details actions that this soil has practiced for too long, as it rolls into Omega. So I appreciate the brother for sharing it with people that were not aware.

NBK is aggressive, wise, and another piece with a message. Though, the material is graphic, the artist manages to get his point across exposing evil with minimal foul language. Plus, it had no guest appearances, rare and bold.

Kogan – Mak P x Bass Reevez

Bringing the weekend to a close with an artist that left a lasting  impression. The winter gave us dedicated emcees to the art. Ahead of his time, Mak P follows his door opener, No Heart Anthony  with an EP.  As I saw posts announcing its  release, I couldn't wait to hear it. 

Mak goes into full song mode with four hand selected tracks from Bass Reevez. That's right, I finally get to radar high demand  audio key  pusher. Fam knows I dig when the sounds sever, yet maintain  album chemistry. Right in the pocket of the high profile cast. Triple Threat  is a verbal hydra with  K. Burns and  Sauce Heist. 

They connect spitting empowerment from surviving the best and the worst the streets throw at you. One of two features on the piece, TFMG brother K. Burns pops up again on Loft Muzik.  The fly talk continues, the jewels is inspirational.  Juke Box  proves P can hold his own, plus authentic content. 

Midnight Train  is more of a creative tune, while he uses retro filmography as cadences. Staying along the film themes, Mak flips Killing Them Softly. Once again, the artist trades violence for approach to killing the tracks.

One of the craziest things happened to me this week. I got a submission from an artist I haven't written about, as yet. Forgive me, initially I didn't realize who I was receiving the pack from. I knew the name sounded familiar, still. The first joint that plays is a banger I've been rockin to for a month or so. Yup, I heard that open to Thankful drop. "Wait a minute, this that wave, !" I'm saying to myself.

Small world, huh?   More reason to be grateful for my position. Banks Davocki is a breath of fresh air, some chilly air from Niagara Falls, NY. We're keeping the young world energy tonight. You'll sense it from the beat selection, joints to keep you moving. One of the producers is resurfacing from earlier this week, Kid Ocean.  Also building the vibe to this body of work, Cashmoney AP, Sult4n, Mubz Beatz, Almighty Beats, Ezra, and Cormill. 

TFT is versatile, covering extremes from from hard times to stunt mode. It's for young cats staying focused, getting business. Davocki is an artist that has substance. The category his tunes are placed in is usually overlooked for bars. He makes sure you don't look past him. Creativity pours out in X - Files featuring Lingo Da God. The track pays homage to the 90's series, the emcees roll through situations of ex girlfriends. 

Relationships play a common role through this album, he's got his hands full with the ladies. Rocking With Me gets the skin crawling, an anthem for anyone striving. Tunes such as Never Had with Jynx and I'm Too Busy featuring Luck Luciano bring me back to a younger me. Recognize the connections? Can't forget Mark Ant, Tru DLN, and SG Lingo for adding fuel to the fire.

What It Sound Like?

Peace everybody! It's hard to explain this feeling, I just don't want it to go away. Heads are making it out or through the struggle doing what they were blessed to do. As result, we get feel-good music in return. No delay, I had to bring back a great producer with one of the memorable albums this year. Won87 brought us some heat with the Robert Deniro co-op, Mean Streets. Our homie is back with one of the coolest tracks. This was so clever.

The Loop Killer sampled this theme from one of the Cartoon Network hit segments. The way he built the beat around it is complete. It's smooth, simple, and got the right drum pattern for that neck rock. Feeding your Hip Hop taste buds further, he linked up with the Upstate All-Star, Jamal Gasol for this one. You know how he give it up!

Unfortunately, underachievers don't feel the same way he does. So, Mr 31 addresses those looking for his misfortune. Here at RAN, we ride for our own. So, we just gonna make them more mad with these posts. Feel me? Gasol Proceeds to spit that Piff, capitalizing off his run-ins. We all could relate, there is always a hater lurking when someone's intention is good.
