What It Sound Like? 

This new site update is taking a minute to get used to.  Know what else is new..?   Tunes, and they're potent. So potent, we had to spin back to the album of  Never. 

Re-welcome King Nasty, royalty of Phoenix, Arizona. Bringing us one of the most anticipated pieces of the year. When you let lyricists and producers communicate on the same server, you get replay material. Robert Deniro, the mastermind to the mood set for the album happens to be from Arizona, as well. Peep how he takes us through a wide range of elements to get these samples the way we like. No two tracks sound the same. All though a strong force together, still inclined to reach out to more heavyweights.

 Nasty sets the album off matching a melodic background holding his own on Off Kilter. Early to show slickness with bars, as he does it with poise. That carries into the first feature, Cracc with our homie, Madhattan Mayor. Utilizing Hip Hop for it's creation, verbally dodging the trouble in the streets while addressing it. RAN supporters will be pleased to see John Creasy appear in Deja Vu' or did he reappear? One verse worth a flip, new work with a familiar feel. 

Other than the unforgettable Never, covered recently with underground virals, Icelord and Lil Eto. The final feature is our family, Killy Shoot. They match up brushes in the self-titled banger, Drugs. This reach out is key, Killy paints pictures in rhyme so well. King lets us into hardships of his childhood household. The two accomplished the goal, easily. Have to appreciate the street poets as they come around. 

Bad Intentions, Family High, Real Niggas, Pocket Full Of Stones, and Loud Storm are all stand out solos. Loud Storm is more of a loop-based beat by Rob. This is where less means more. With few instruments, he did so much for the sound. The Phoenix spitta proves worthy isolated or on the assist. No where near an album that relies on names of a cast. This was a true team effort. Each artist stepped up to keep the bar risen.

Never – King Nasty x Rob Deniro x Icelord x Lil Eto

What It Sound Like? 

You came to the right place at the right time. We're still in the heart of the underground uprising. Here at RAN, you stay connected while careers take off. Tonight is a returning cast, all emcees that previously had write-ups here. Including our producer of the project, Robert Deniro a familiar talent to our fans. After the chemistry on Mean Streets, him and King Nasty drew up with a play of their own.

You should also remember Icelord from that same collaboration. Tonight he popped up with Lil Eto of New Crack Era. They continue to lay down the independent blueprint.  Once Rob cheffed up this gritty background, slow paced and raw. The emcees had no choice, but to head tap the track! Some call it G checking, I just call things how they are. That's exactly what they did with this tune. Calling out the audio gangstas, as the artists spit authentic bars. Each voice stands out with styles that can't be mirrored, while the content speaks for itself.

What It Sound Like?

New week started, I hope yours is well. My privileged position in this new element of Hip Hop strikes again. Did I mention, I’m cool with cool people? 

I got another exclusive from Cocareef, the active RAN family member! During his Diaz Brothers run, he dropped off that bag. Accompanied by more family, you know street-viral producer, Onaje Jordan. And it doesn’t get more relative than daughter of  7th Angel, say hi to Ambishouz. Talk nice she’s a young lady, soon to be High School grad, and direct lineage.

Jordan set a foundation cooking with jazz, as Ambishouz harmonics loop along. Head nod factor is up, feel good music you could two step to, even though the lyrics are tuff. Some real valuables being polished in this tune. Coca staying sucka-free, showing you how to stand on your own ten toes. I’m feeling the slick verses with a simplified hook delivery. Some more slick talking going there, as well. My first time hearing the Cocareef Records first lady tonight, Amaya has the red carpet now.Three different talents working together is good for sake of the song, the paper is sure to follow.

If Cocaine Could Talk 3 – RJ Payne

What It Sound Like?

While you pile up on those holiday extras, I’m here to make sure you take in some substance. Despite the title, there will be no illegal plays or deadly addictions dealt here. It’s the hustle, aspiration, lethal content RJ Payne refers to as this high end product. Happens to be one of the most sought after products in the street, plus corporate. The artist proceeds to metaphorically describe himself as such. Plenty rappers aim to get brick prices for their verse, so it’s easy to relate to.

Making a pleasant return, RJ blesses All Nighters with a follow up album. With his third investment in the ICCT series, he made a bigger impact. This piece attracted star cameos we’re glad to hear from. From Philly-Hip Hop staple, Tracey Lee, Griselda Records own Westside Gunn, Paul Caine from Desert Storm and the lyrical Elzhi. Some powerful spoken word from Lady Lioness of Urban Poetics. One tune features Big Twins of Infamous Mobb, produced by DJ Skizz  (World Music Group). Might be the more sensitive joint on the album, I believe it’s the only one with a hook. The rest are straight bars of Payne!

Other well selected producers are FonkStarr of Crummie Beats from Virginia. Four Limbs across the pond in the UK, the Brooklyn producer Asethic with souls sounds. Another out of  BK is Stan Da Man,made hits for a long list of spittas. The closing track was brought yo you by P.A. Dre, all heavyweights. 

You have to appreciate How Payne is able to display different angles of rap. He has bars, beat selection, flows, professionalism, and something for the gutter. Easy to notice the hard effort put in to achieve this lyrical awareness.
