RAN Ink TV

The coolest, new thing is going on at YouTube. I started using the platform to post videos of me reading write-ups from RAN. I’m always looking to help expand the fan base of our artists. Be Live makes it easy to do custom recordings and load them up. If anyone wants to use the site for broadcasting, follow the link I post for it.

Most importantly, watch the playlist and let me know how you’re feeling this expansion. I want to make more visual posts like these, so keep supporting. Click the YouTube link, subscribe, and turn on the notifications to stay updated.

Br00tal Productions – Rose Gold & Amethyst [Full Mixtape]

What It Sound Like?

This is the stuff that makes me feel good. It’s the day of the compilation. Since I appreciate equity and prosperity, I love to see people work together. When I saw the promo posts I was excited for the outcome. There’s some heads I was already cool with, plus some that I met from the creation of this project.

Biggups to Miami, FL stationed producer, Br00tal Productions. He assembled a fleet of spittas for a Hip Hop contribution. All beats laced by Br00tal with a dope variety. You get an opportunity to hear his range. Peep the roster selected by the visionary.

It pops off with a deep artist I worked with, Dot-com Intelligence, plus L-Biz, and Speedie Da Icon. The emcees’ alerting message is delivered with a harmonizing hook, a bold route not often taking in this circuit. An interesting twist follows with back to back joints titled the same. These tunes consist of the artists Black Taurus and Cold Blues.

Hog Pullock and Trpl-Z join up for a duo to bring that aggression. Midway, we get spoken word influence from Phantom Legs. Gratefully, I also appear on this album freeing the mind. Following is some poetics from Chelly Peyrefitte. The Boom Bap sax is vocalized by Lord Natural with raw perspective. The next song introduced me to a Hip Hop family. Check the cadenced bars from Kcirrem, Sonny Blanco, and Ray Swoope. Then, this project wraps up with another one from Trpl-Z to carry us out.

Br00tal allows the artists to shine, as they all brought something special to the gathering. You get a variety of angles in this Hip Hop presentation. I also like the interludes of instrumentals crafted by the alter ego, Gordon Gekko. I’m always honored to be included in someone’s work of art. Get your piece at Bandcamp. Be sure to grab the chrome plated cassettes, too. Thanks for always supporting. Blessings from the Almighty to all!

Still in the Hood (feat. Rasheed Chappell)

What It Sound Like?

I know there’s been some big gaps between my posts. I’d like to get to them sooner, as well as more articles. While I tackle life quarterback sneaks, new music is constant. What would we do without it?

We’ve got some market movers for you tonight. Jamal Gasol and Rasheed Chappell are names you heard a lot in recent years. They tapped in with advancing producer, Wavy Da Ghawd. Even got some scratching from DJ Eclipse. This joint has Shade45 written all over it.

As bad as rappers want the dream, the rap game ain’t what you expect. These two keep the same mentality that got them through the street’s trials. Life is still a hustle, so vividly expressed over this slapping background. This is a standout tune, nothing typical about it.

I like the team up of emcees, I’m a Wavy fan, plus the vocal samples add to the feel. I didn’t see the Stone Cold lines coming. This is a cool collaboration, they each have a different sound. Gotta appreciate the originality. Give it some spins and pick it up at your favorite digital music store.

Next Door C&I: Wordsworth

What It Sound Like?

It’s been a dramatic start for my year. As soon as I think I’m gaining control, something else slows me down. I don’t like to stay away from the All Nighter’s for so long. On a positive note, I was able to attend one of the coolest concerts I’ve ever been to. Oh yea, I was also a part of it.

An ideal location in Ft Laucderdale, FL hosts a combination of perfection. The location of Next Door C&I is surrounded by food, independent business, and tagging to add that Hip Hop element. The inside is comforting. Your choice of drinks, whether you want tea, coffee, or something from the full bar. Along the walls are rows of books to keep the readers entertained. One of those book sections is an incognito doorway to the performance room. It looks like the secret passage from the old Batman show.

Beyond this wall is where the action took place. Unsigned artists took stage to heating things up. I got the chance to meet one, Crescendo. He drove down from Orlando to rock. Of course, I ran into Grone Da Radikal and Whatamess, two of my comrades. I was also building with my cousin and other friends in the spot, so the vibe was already nice. After Grone got the crowd going, my performance was next. For music they never heard, the audience showed love!

Grone Da Radikal

As I stepped outside for fresh air, the man of the night appeared. Long story short, I was able to converse with Wordsworth shortly before his set. Actually, him and Skam shared a lot wisdom with me. Grone also came through briefly for the gathering. The level of experience between the two vets is beyond motivational. Skam has been traveling overseas for a couple years. Words recorded a banging album from the home studio. Something the independent artists find themselves doing.

Skam & Wordsworth

A key moment happened that don’t to leave out. It brought everything full circle. A fan came up to get a flick. He brought vinyls as a classy fan would. Just before he showed up, Words mentioned a transition he made in his music to draw the listener in closer. The first song he executed this ended up on one of the records the gentleman brought with him. Not only that, Skam did the covers to most of the records this guy had with him.

After the priceless gems, Wordsworth went inside to perform. He incorporated songs from albums, plus freestyles on the spot. The clever emcee grabbed the attention of a distracted woman by rhyming about proposing to her. Talk about controlling the show… A decent amount of songs were from Our World Today and Champion Sounds. Which, I was very pleased to hear. I had a feeling he would do a few of those.

The Connect was organized by some great dudes, Ben Phrases and Khris Audio. Khris kept the sounds pumping for the emcees, including playing true Hip Hop flavor between the performances. Ben broke the ice with several freestyles. At the very end, it was him, Skam Wordsworth, and myself going the cipher.

Salutes to the other artists that I didn’t get to see, plus any names left out. Shout to Starr Statuzz Mixology for helping with the flow of things. Thanks to the team at Next Door C&I for having us. Thanks to everybody who bought tickets to support. Praises to the Almighty for making this safe, successful event possible!
